I think that: I want Scotland to match the success of Ireland, Norway and Iceland - all of them in the top six richest nations in the world. In a video podcast released to mark six months until polling on 3 May 2007, the SNP leader outlines his ambition for a stronger economy, better public services and a fairer society.
Because: The countdown has begun. In exactly 6 months time you can have your opportunity for your say in the future of Scotland.
The SNP is all about success. Success for Scotland and success for Scottish families.
It's time for our country to be stronger, with the chance to choose a powerhouse parliament, an independent parliament in a referendum.
It's time for Scotland to be fairer so that pensioners, lower income households pay less in local taxation.
And it's time for Scotland to be smarter, with smaller class sizes and a return to free university education.
With your help, Scotland could be safer with more local police in local communities. We could be healthier keeping local health services open. And we could be wealthier with more competitive business tax creating jobs and income for Scottish families.
These are our ambitions for Scotland.
We've got the talent and ability in Scotland to make a real success of our country.
If we look off our east coast to Norway, the second most prosperous country in the world, off our west coast to Ireland the fourth most prosperous country in the world and off our north coast to Iceland, the sixth most prosperous country in the world.
All these independent countries represent an arc of prosperity and Scotland has more resources than any one of them.
We've got to join that arc prosperity with a stronger economy, better public services and a fairer society.
It's time for a new start in Scotland.
It's time to bring our troops home from the bloody quagmire that is Iraq.
It's time for a real government in Scotland.
It's time for the SNP.
