I think that: People who want to live and work in a particular country should learn the language of that country. It's common sense.
Because: How can anyone expect to get on in everyday life and work if they can't speak the language of the place they're in? People coming to live & work in England as immigrants or migrants should be expected to learn English. I spent a year working in another country and I was expected to understand and speak and read and write in the language of that country. There's no excuse for not making an effort to communicate in the local language. This has nothing to do with political correctness. Whatever other languages you use in your own family circle and among your friends, make sure you can communicate in the public language of the country you're living and working in.
