I think that: Lets get rid of income tax and tax spending to raise revenue instead. Then we could tax the things that cause damage to our lives and the environment and leave other things tax free. Up the tax on smoking and air travel. No tax on bicycles? Or perhaps just tax everything on its impact on the environment?

Because: Beacuse we need to get people engaged ion politics again and get people making choices that will change are future for the better
