I think that: Thin edge of the wedge, the sex trade, Drugs, any thing immoral?, Simple answer The criminals need to be driven out. .Legalise it all. Nanny state intervention.

Because: Take the criminal world out of these areas, put in red tape for each industry. Create new tax revenue. We’re grown up, can take the consequence for our actions.

If the sex trade operated like a market I would agree with you. But too many of the women do not give their consent. The state has a duty to protect the women involved - some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Moreover, if it were a legal trade, then the vulnerable would be easier to ID, such as Street walkers etc.
