I think that: Why are the german zoo authorities not trying to save the baby polar bear
Because: They are an endangered species, they did not choose to be placed in a zoo so we as a society have a responsibility to ensure that if a mother does not rear her cub then we must. Why are these do gooders saying we should leave nature to do what is best, if it was in the wild the mother would eat it if it was dead or rear it if it could, if the cub dies so be it. The mother did not choose to be placed in the zoo and it is not a normal environment so we should be doing all we can to encourage the life of this cub. How many years have we left to see this animal in the wild. Better to see new cubs reared in captivity than see a spectacular species die because we cant be bothered.
