I think that: That media outlets in this country only care about people in white, westernised countries. Because: Hundreds of people have died in Asian floods recently, but it barely makes the headlines but when one bridge falls down in America it is a story for days

It really depends on what your exposure to the media is; I listen to BBC Radio 4, Talk Sport (Sky News) and read online several newspapers. It is all there it just depends what you read or hear.
