I think that: 1984 may be a few years out of date but, each day that passes brings some sort of new restrictions on our lives, our enjoyments and each other. Why?
Because: CCTV, Politics, Media and Authorities each have grown more powerful... When we were children our parents and peers seemed to have more fun... stories of scrumpying, practical jokes, i.e. door knocking etc All these were part of growing up and testing the waters of our personality. Now, unfortunately, these type of things are illegal and dangerour - door knocking may cause an heart attack (oh pooh!) and you can get taken to court - seriously!!! We are living in a litigious society with handcuffs on our personalities... me? I love to be naughty, teasing and pleasing... but, with changes in recent laws even actions between consenting adults in the privacy of a bedroom are now illegal... What do the authorities wish for... robotic lemings that feed them more power? Sorry, not me!
