I think that: SATS are quite important exams, as they give pupils an indication of what GCSE groups etc to be in, before they do them & gives parents an idea of their child's progress in school. Because: Although obviously not as important as nationally recognised qualifications such as GCSE's and A levels, SATs give an important indication of a child's progress.
